I was on Republic TV in India on June 19, 2026, discussing the revelations made by outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard about Anthony Fauci, gain-of-function research, and the lab leak in China that led to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The anchors were Abhishek Kapoor and Niranjan Narayanswami.
After listening to what I characterized as an “anti-American diatribe” by Narayanswami, I said in part:
“I want to correct … your colleague’s mischaracterization of my remarks. I did not give a partisan take on this. I said that presidents going back to Obama, that would include Biden and Trump, should not have been funding this research, and they did, and that was a big mistake.”
“I’m not a science guy, okay? I normally cover politics and the courts. I just know what I lived through during the COVID era, and if this research was so risky with uncertain gains, I’m not even sure what they were really trying to accomplish with this, then they should not have been doing it. But yeah, the United States government funded this, and the United States is not solely to blame for COVID — China is also a participant in this — it was their lab that reportedly leaked the virus.”
Here is the video clip (my part starts around 9:55):
