ACORN founder and former national chief organizer Wade Rathke, who was dismissed from his post by ACORN’s national board in June 2008 after covering up a million dollar embezzlement by his brother, has created or appears to be in control of new activist groups or groups that were part of the ACORN network.
Rathke created a new group called Advocates and Action (website). (Incorporated June 8, 2010 in Louisiana, charter number 40225514N, DUNS: 03-458-5460) The new nonprofit corporation is located at 3401 Saint Claude Ave., New Orleans, Louisiana 70117, according to Nexis.
