All these angry leftists today put so much energy into defacing and disfiguring the statues of historical figures they dislike.
It wasn’t always this way.
There was a time when protesters used the power of ridicule to make a point.
For example, right here in Washington, D.C., when activists wanted to protest a statute of Confederate Brigadier General Albert Pike in 1992, they draped the statue in a white sheet and a pointy white hat. (See above photo.)
That’s actually kind of funny — at least I think it is.
Nobody was harmed and from what I can tell no damage was done to the statue.
And the target was made to look goofy.
Bingo.
