I was on NewsX in India today (April 5, 2026) discussing President Trump’s latest threat to escalate in the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

We discussed Trump’s Truth Social post from earlier today in which he told the Iranians to “Open the Fuckin’ Strait [of Hormuz], you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!”

At one point, I said Trump’s approach in the social media post represented the “monster truck rally populist style of communicating with the people.”

The host was Megha Sharma and the other panelists were Dan Perry, former Indian Air Force Group Captain Augustine Vinod, and former Indian Army Major General G.G. Dwivedi. I was surprised the other panelists agreed with me several times (though not on the monster truck rally reference, unfortunately).

Some said Trump was a crazy person, and that this latest post of his proves it. I said President Ronald Reagan thought it advantageous for the Soviets to think of him as a crazy cowboy, so maybe Trump is laying it on thick for a reason.
