I was on Republic TV in India this morning (April 26, 2026) talking about the apparent assassination attempt on President Donald Trump last night at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Again, I pointed out that President Ronald Reagan was shot at the side entrance to the same hotel soon after his inauguration in 1981. Local police call the hotel the “Hinckley Hilton,” a morbid reference to the man who shot Reagan, John Hinckley.

I said on the show that in my dealings with the Secret Service, the agency has been too gung-ho to the point of interfering with events that the president attends, but that didn’t happen here.

The host did mention that the alleged would-be assassin, California teacher Cole Tomas Allen, reportedly gave money to Democrats. (Incidentally, I read a report saying he donated to a pro-Kamala Harris political action committee in 2024.)
